Yarn Expo Spring 2024: Global Cotton Yarn Networking

The expansive realm of the cotton yarn market, with its roots tracing back to the ancient origins of cotton fabric and evolving into modern, high-tech fabric production techniques, is set to take center stage. Fueled by the escalating demand for cotton yarn, robust advancements in the textile industry, and ongoing technological progress, the upcoming exhibition is strategically positioned to facilitate diverse business opportunities within the cotton sub-sector.

Scheduled from March 6 to 8, 2024, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, the event anticipates the participation of over 500 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, with a significant focus on the cotton category boasting 124 exhibitors.

Cotton continues to reign as a primary choice for various applications, including apparel, home textiles, and industrial uses. Innovations such as genetically-modified cotton, coupled with enhancements in yarn manufacturing, further propel market expansion amid global population growth and economic development. As the leading producers of cotton and cotton-based products, China and India play pivotal roles in the global market, which is projected to surpass USD 94.5 billion by 2028, following a healthy 6.3% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR).

The spring exhibition anticipates active participation from cotton exhibitors in China, India, and beyond, geared to meet the robust demand both internationally and domestically. Buyers attending the event can explore a diverse range of related products.

India Pavilion, featuring 32 exhibitors, takes the spotlight Continuing its active involvement in India cotton yarn industry, the Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) is set to organize the India Pavilion, showcasing some of the country premier suppliers. Reflecting on last year is show, Mr. Murali Balkrishna, Joint Director of Texprocil, remarked, "We facilitated exports of over USD 15 billion of Indian cotton textiles last year to more than 150 countries around the world. China has been our biggest market over the past few years.

This edition is pavilion will highlight over 30 exhibitors presenting an array of cotton-related yarns and products, including pure cotton carding, pure cotton combing/compact spinning, viscose, blended yarn, modal yarn, recycled, organic/BCI yarns, polyester, and polyester cotton. Featured exhibitors include: Amar International: A leading exporter of Indian cotton yarns, raw cotton, cotton waste for recycling, woven and knitted fabrics, agricultural commodities, and chemical dyes.

Excel Enterprise: Manufacturer of various cotton yarns, including BCI, Pima, dyed, melange, and 100% viscose and viscose-blended yarns. Debut of International Cotton Players at Yarn Expo Spring Coinciding with China is peak sourcing season, the fair will witness the return of numerous international exhibitors. Noteworthy debuts include: 

  • - Blinks International (Pakistan): Renowned as a premier textile sourcing house in Pakistan, specializing in raw cotton, cotton yarn, and grey fabrics procurement for the global market, with a particular focus on Asia, Europe, and South America.
  • - PT. Bintang Makmur Sentosa Textil Industry (Indonesia): Specializing in spinning, weaving, and finishing, offering products like ring-spun yarn, open-end cotton yarn, rayon, polyester, and more, with a monthly production capacity of 250,000 spindles of yarn.
